I’ve been distracted by the real world for a while — this is the second of my posts looking back on my visit to the motherland. Normally I go back in the winter time, when the weather is freezing, the trees are mostly dead and the sky is a gloomy grey. This time around I went in July — the first time in 18(!) years that I’ve experienced summer in Nanjing.
The heat and humidity during the day were almost unbearable. But it was worth it. Everything was alive! The city (which is notable for its tree-lined streets and centrally-located lake-park) was awash in the vibrant colour of summer life. Here are some examples:
